The Scone Recipe
For apple and cheddar cheese scone, I put less sugar in and grate the apple and cheese on a cheese grater.
Otherwise this is my famous scone recipe. !!! Enjoy
2 cups all purpose flour
 cup white sugar
4 tsp. baking powder
 tsp salt
 cup butter or margarine
 cup dried cranberries.
1 egg
2/3 cup milk
The secret to the best Scones ever, is the sifting of the flour !!!
I have also adapted this recipe by reducing the sugar, adding parmesan cheese and fresh garden chives.
Now:
In a small bowl, beat the egg until frothy, stir in milk blend with a fork
In a large bowl, sift flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
Add butter with a fork cutting into the flour to resemble crumbs
Add cranberries, or other fresh or dried fruit.
Add the wet ingredients to the flour mixture, stir with a fork until it is all together, and if it is too dry add more milk.
I use a stone baking tray, (from Pampered Chef) or any good kitchen store.
Make @ 400F for 15 minutes. I make these into large round scones.
I never touch the batter.
Sprinkle with icing sugar. Serve Immediately.
