Wildlife aficionados will want to take in The Fraser Valley Bald Eagle Festival being held November 20 and 21. It is one of the largest gatherings of raptors in North America and showcases thousands of Bald Eagles that return to the Fraser Valley each fall. The event features organized eagle viewing sites with expert speakers, river and nature tours, green businesses, environmental displays, First Nation’s arts and culture and the Vancouver Zoo.

Leq’a:mel Hall, a First Nation’s Community Centre which is the venue for the festival’s Green Expo.
Kilby Historic Site, located at the confluence of the Harrison and Fraser Rivers, is the remains of the once thriving community of Harrison Mills. It offers an amazing 1906 General Store Museum with many packaging artifacts from the 1920’s and 1930’s. You’ll also want to see the old Post Office and Manchester House Hotel.
The Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve, a 325 acre wetland located on the un-dyked flood plain of the Vedder River. The reserve is a breeding ground for the great blue heron and other wildlife.
Xa:ytem Longhouse, the site of a 9,000 year old Salish village and transformer stone located in Mission, BC. This sacred site is used for healing ceremonies as well as cultural education.
