Julie & Peter Griffiths of Arbor B & B in Prince George, BC as this year’s recipient of the Moyra Turner Hospitality Award.
Local B&B B&Bkeepers Vivian and Neil Reinhart of Flying Cloud B&B were finalists for the award, which is given for continuing hospitality.
100 bed and breakfast innkeepers gathered last week in Nanaimo for their AGM and annual conference and recognized Julie and Peter Griffiths of Arbor B & B in Prince George as this year’s recipients of the Moyra Turner Hospitality Award.
Moyra Turner, a Vancouver innkeeper and founding member of the BC B&Bkeepers Guild, passed away in 1999, and is remembered annually as this award is given to innkeepers who exemplify her exceptional hospitality to guests and tireless efforts on behalf of the bed and breakfast industry in B.C.
A committee of Nanaimo bed & breakfast innkeepers hosted this year’s conference Triumph over Turbulent Times focusing on consumer trends and successful strategies in the travel industry today. The conference was heralded as an enormous success by current and aspiring innkeepers alike. Nanaimo’s mayor John Ruttan was in attendance to greet delegates from all parts of B.C. as well as Manitoba and Washington State.
