67th Annual Kispiox Valley RodeoThere’s nothing quite like the thrill and excitement of a rodeo and the 2014 Kispiox Valley Rodeo delivers all that and more!

The Kispiox Valley Rodeo is a well-attended, annual event drawing both spectators and contestants from all over Canada. Witness the speed of the horses, the power of the bulls, the skill and grit of the cowboys and cowgirls, the wily antics of the brave and loony rodeo clowns, and revel in the food, fun, and family of this important and traditional community event.

The Kispiox Valley Rodeo includes all your time honored rodeo favorites: Bareback Riding, Bull Riding, Saddle Bronc Riding, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, Ladies and Junior Barrel Racing, Calf Roping, Junior Steer Riding, Ladies Steer Undecorating, and Goat Tying.

The Kispiox Valley Rodeo has its own traditions as well, such as being greeted with a smile at the gate and the incredibly delicious, homey food prepared for you by the Four Fat Fryers and the winsome Kitchen Wench right here in the concession hall.

You can also look forward to what has become known as the Grand Entry of the Drill Team during the opening ceremony of the rodeo. This crack team’s enthusiastic display of precision horse riding will get you ready for what’s to come – and let’s not forget the singing of our national anthem as performed by a talented youngster from one of the Hazelton elementary schools who competed for the honor. If that doesn’t bring a tear to your eye and swelling to your heart, well, I guess not much will.

The Kispiox Valley Rodeo is a member of The British Columbia Rodeo Association, the primary governing body of rodeo in British Columbia. The Kispiox Valley rodeo grounds include a full arena, numerous display halls, concessions, and a variety of camping areas, all located along the banks of the Kispiox River.

Don’t miss it!
