BC Bed & Breakfast Association (founded in 1995) is a professional association of innkeepers of quality Bed & Breakfasts (not AirBnbs) in the province of British Columbia, formed for mutual support, education, industry representation and marketing.
The mission of the BC Bed & Breakfast Association is to provide a network that supports:
- “REST ASSURED” quality lodging for guests
- Professionalism and success for members
Our approved members must favorably reflect the Association’s high standards by providing superior quality, ambience, guest service, amenities and outstanding host integrity and hospitality.
In return for the right to be a member of BC Bed & Breakfast Association, the member agrees to display the BC Bed & Breakfast Association logo on their B&B/B&B business website home or main page, contact page, or links page, with a hyperlink to the BC Bed & Breakfast Association website home page. Failure to do so will result in the establishment losing the privileges of membership.
Our membership year runs from January 1 to December 31, but you can join BC Bed & Breakfast Association at any time.
Professional Membership includes:
- a comprehensive descriptive listing with photos on our website;
- use of our logo in your marketing;
- a 3-line listing on the “View All Members” page in the public area of the BC Bed & Breakfast Association website with a hyperlink to your business listing;
- inclusion in the “Contact Members List” in the Members only area of the website;
- the monthly Table Talk newsletter (bi-monthly in the summer) and other information distributed to the members;
- merchant discounts;
- inclusion in a regional marketing group;
- benefit from BC Bed & Breakfast Association’ general marketing initiatives;
- mentoring from experienced members;
- attend annual general meeting – with full voting rights;
The following is required when applying for membership:
- If a Bed & Breakfast license is required in your community or regional district, a copy must be provided, as part of your application process. Also required is a copy of a valid Foodsafe Certificate for the person doing the cooking. Every applicant must have insurance coverage for liability, and B&B operation, and a copy of that insurance policy must also be provided.
- Members of BC Bed & Breakfast Association agree to be bound by the following Code of Business Conduct and Ethics. On our membership application form, you will be prompted to commit to these standards.
- All members of BC Bed & Breakfast Association will be provided with the BCBBA logo, and you will be asked to display that logo on your website’s homepage or contact page, in close proximity to the logos of other associations, memberships or rating entities, with a hyperlink back to the Association homepage.
Associate Membership
BC Bed & Breakfast Association also offers Individual and Corporate Associate Memberships. Associate Members are non-voting members.
Associate Membership benefits individuals or businesses working in the Bed & Breakfast , self-catering, and related Tourism industries.
Individuals or businesses that are eligible for membership include:
- (Individual members) Retired, Aspiring or Relief B&Bkeepers
- (Individual members) Employees of BC Bed & Breakfast Association members
- (Individual members) Students in the hospitality industry
- (Corporate members) Agents for government or industry
- (Corporate members) Agencies or businesses in the tourism industry
INDIVIDUAL ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP – $50 + GST per year
- A line listing of 75 characters on our lodging website
- Attend meetings and conferences hosted by local and regional groups
- Registration for conferences at discounted member rates
- Participate on committees for local or regional group
BUSINESS ASSOCIATE MEMBERSHIP – $100 + GST per year
- All the benefits of the Associate Membership
- Have up to 250 characters available for their website listing, instead of 75
- Reciprocal linking is strongly encouraged.
