Vancouver International Children's FestivalThe Vancouver International Children’s Festival is a world-renowned exhibition of live performances that has been entertaining young audiences for 36 years!

This educational and inspirational festival on Granville Island is a family tradition you won’t want to miss, with over 15 interactive arts activities for you and your youngsters to enjoy, such as Circus Skills, Interactive Dinosaur Sculpture, a Musical Maze, and Origami to name just a few.

And the performances? A host of talented artists come from all over the world for the opportunity to perform at the Vancouver International Children’s Festival. Take a look!

A Circus in Wonderland
A theatrical interpretation of Lewis Carroll’s classic, “Through the Looking Glass” in the guise of a circus? Yes!

Erth Dinosaur Zoo
See, touch, and interact with life-like dinosaur puppets in this educational and entertaining performance of monstrous proportions.

Invisi’Ball
Invisi’Ball combines theatre, pantomime, and dance in an upbeat and friendly satirization of the beloved game of soccer.

In Abundance
Dancers of the Gitxsan First Nation, decorated in carved masks and elaborate traditional costumery, celebrate the cultural importance of salmon.

Fred Penner
Fred Penner is one of Canada’s best-loved children’s singers. A two-time Juno winner, Fred has been entertaining for over 25 years with his catchy songs such as “The Cat Came Back” and “What a Day.”

Kaput
Tom Flanagan, star of Australia’s Tom Tom Crew and Circus Oz, offers up a hilarious mix of chaos and acrobatics in a wonderfully touching comedy debacle.

Le Groupe Swing
Le Groupe Swing is an energetic, urban folk band that will get you up and dancing to their irresistible music.

Rick Scott – The Great Gazzoon
Rick Scott and his 12-year-old granddaughter Lilu combine music and laughter to perform “The Great Gazzoon:” the story of one boy’s use of music to challenge tradition, defeat angry winds, outwit Lord Grot, and save the kingdom.

The Frog King
Be mesmerized by master puppeteer Matthias Kuchta’s interpretation of Grimms’ fairytale, “The Frog King,” with his amazingly lifelike cloth puppets.

Where I Live
“Where I Live” invites children to explore and celebrate their body, their house, their village, their planet – their place in the world.

Variety Show!
An artistic pastiche of performances featuring many of the acts listed above in a variety show setting. Laughs and fun galore!
