In a city that is known for its beautiful beaches, world class wineries, amazing restaurants, and so much more, Kelowna also

Hiking Trail on Okanagan Lake

offers many options for the outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy the art of hiking. With its rolling hills, stunning views and gorgeous skyline, the Okanagan Valley has an endless amount of walking and hiking trails which are accessible year round. Whether you are looking to take a relaxing stroll along Okanagan Lake, or challenge yourself to a more difficult 16 km hike, you are sure to find a trail that will satisfy your needs.

A very popular trail for both locals and tourists alike, the Kettle Valley Rail Trail is one of the region’s most historic sites that offers both leisurely trails and breathtaking views. With a number of different access points such as June Springs and Chute Lake, the Kettle Valley trail will take you through railway tunnels and over towering trestles that will surely leave you in awe. And if you find that heights aren’t your favorite thing, I recommend not looking down!

For those who may be looking for a more challenging and longer hiking experience, I recommend attempting the High Rim Trail. This 55 km trail, located just east of Kelowna, winds through the hills and forest of the Okanagan Valley. Of course one does not need to hike all 55 kilometres as there are multiple access points, but if a multi-day hike is on your list of things to do while visiting this beautiful part of the province, this trail should be high on your list.

These are only two of many options that are available to enjoy no matter what time of the year you look to visit Kelowna. Some other very popular hiking trails include Knox Mountain and Paul’s Tomb, the Mission Creek Greenway, Okanagan Mountain Provincial Park and Bear Creek Provincial Park.  And then of course there is the Waterfront Boardwalk situated in downtown Kelowna where one can enjoy the tranquillity of Okanagan Lake while taking in the eclectic culture of the city.  Your Kelowna Bed & Breakfast hosts are sure to have more information on hand and can point you in the right direction to enjoy your hike!
