Edge of the World Music Festival (Haida Gwaii, BC)

August 10-12, 2012

The Edge of the World Music Festival is held annually at Tlell Fall Fairgrounds across from Naikoon Provincial Park at Tlell, on the northern Graham Island of Haida Gwaii.  This year 21 bands and musical artists converge in this idyllic setting for a weekend of “off the beaten path” performances.  Performer highlights of the festival include:

Alseny Diallo & Kikeyambay Drum & Dance Alseny Diallo & Kikeyambay combines the expertise in traditional & contemporary Guinean music of Diallo with the spirited traditional West African drumming & dancing and electric Afrofusion orchestral sounds of Kikeyambay to create unforgettable performances.		Aurora Jane Funk, Rock & Groove Hailing from Australia, Aurora Jane blends cheerful forms of rock ‘n’ roll, groove and funk to create an international music sensation that’s been likened to a combination of Jimi Hendrix, Ani DeFranco, and “Blood Sugar” era Red Hot Chili Peppers.
C.R. Avery One-Man Band: Blues, Hip-hop, Rock & Roll and More C.R. Avery is a unique voice of his generation – one that takes many forms by blending rock & roll, hip-hop, blues and spoken word. As a one-man band, his “multi-tasking” is legendary and you’ll see him work a piano, sing, beatbox, and play a harmonica all at the same time.		FM HI LOW Underground Pop FM HI LOW frontman Fraser MacDougall has coined the term “Underground Pop” to describe the group’s mix of pop melody with dub-step, folk, hip-hop, indie rock, and reggae. They recently rejected a contract with Sony Music to remain independent.

UdderFest (Prince Rupert, BC)

August 8-11, 2012

Formerly known as the Udder Theatre Festival, UdderFest celebrates the cosmopolitan arts and culture of Prince Rupert’s regional theatre scene.  This year’s festival features eight plays performed at two venues.

Performance troupes from Prince Rupert, Prince George and Kitimat are coming to entertain and engage audiences.

Huble Homestead Days (Prince George, BC)

August 5-6, 2012

This year Huble Homestead Days celebrates Prince George pioneers and the 100th anniversary of historic Huble House.
