The 2013 RunawayGrape Guided Gourmet Food & Wine Tastings events run from May through November and offer an unparalleled opportunity to eat & drink your way through the finest gourmet wine and food to be found in British Columbia, Canada.
This is the second year for these tasting events, following a hugely successful premiere in 2012. Certified Specialist of Wine Tania Thomas has again organized a variety of guided food and wine tastings at an elegant tasting room in a spectacular garden setting at Stanley Park in Vancouver, BC.
This is your chance to learn more about expert wine tasting techniques and BC wine grape varieties while sampling British Columbia’s world class wines. Events also teach you how to pair wines with food and you will taste local, artisinal cheeses, smoked meats, small plates, chocolate and more.

A Taste of British Columbia

This introduction to wine tasting focuses on four of British Columbia’s finest food-friendly wines. While tasting you will learn about BC’s primary wine growing regions and grape varieties. The wines will be paired with artisinal BC cheeses and smoked meats and basics on pairings, to create a heightened culinary experience, will be included.
British Columbia Tasting Lunch
June 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29
The British Columbia wine tasting lunch pairs five BC wines with locally sourced gourmet cold canapés and hot Hors d’Oeuvres. Lunch begins with a tasting of a specially chosen sparkling wine to prepare the palate for the four food and wine pairings to follow. As you sample, you will learn about food and wine pairing theories.
Wine & Chocolate, a Heavenly Affair
Available for small groups of 6 or more on request.
Two of man’s greatest creations come together as you sample five BC wines, ranging from dessert to sparkling, along with local artisan chocolates. Learn about wine and chocolate pairing techniques along with a brief history of chocolate making as you take this tasting tour.
