Voice of BC's Professional Bed & Breakfast Industry

West Vancouver is a waterfront community on the south-facing slopes of British Columbia’s Coast Mountains. Situated along the north shore of Burrard Inlet, West Vancouver, BC, has easily accessible sandy beaches and miles of walking trails. It feels like a small town, yet it has big city amenities, art, and culture. You may never want to leave once you’re settled in a West Vancouver Bed and Breakfast.

West Vancouver, BC is close to downtown Vancouver; it’s a short drive beyond the Lion’s Gate Bridge, and minutes from the Horseshoe Bay BC ferry terminal. Yet once in West Vancouver, there are few reasons to leave.

West Vancouver, BC, is an extremely easy place to shop. The first shopping mall in Canada opened for business in West Vancouver in 1950. Park Royal Shopping Centre still operates today, along with a newer, open-air addition. Head to Ambleside Village along Marine Drive for a taste of small town living. A wide variety of shops face the shore; it’s the perfect spot to pick up fixings for a picnic before spending the day at a nearby beach or park. Farther down Marine Drive is Dundarave Village, with excellent art galleries, cafes, pubs and boutiques.

There are plenty of opportunities for outdoor recreation in West Vancouver itself. More than 100 kilometres of wilderness trails and urban paths traverse the city and its more than 100 parks. Cypress Provincial Park was one of the venues for the 2010 Olympic Winter Games, which speaks to the quality of skiing found at Cypress Mountain Ski Area. Indeed, the views from Cypress Park are worth a trip no matter what: gaze at the volcanic Mount Baker in the Cascade Mountains of Washington, past the city of Vancouver to the Gulf Islands and the Strait of Georgia.

If leaving is necessary, the BC ferries at Horseshoe Bay head to the mainland, or up the Sunshine Coast to Bowen Island. Horseshoe Bay is also great spot to grab a bite to eat, and the views of Howe Sound are spectacular.

Go ahead and get comfortable in your West Vancouver Bed and Breakfast. There is a lot to do here.
