Let’s hear it for this amazing summer season in beautiful British Columbia!
As we head into the last long weekend of the summer, we encourage everyone to take one last trip! Venture across the province, and stay at one of the many amazing BC Bed & Breakfasts! Or stay local, making it a bit more special with a fun getaway in your hometown.
Travel the Vancouver Coast and pair your stay with a beautiful morning hike – (maybe some last minute back to school shopping) – then unwind and relax with an amazing dinner at any one of the hundreds of amazing culinary restaurants located in the region.
Take a quick ferry ride over to Vancouver Island, and truly understand why Condé Nast Traveler magazine has ranked Vancouver Island as the number one island to visit in Canada in 2012. The eco-system is diverse and they have activities to match. Surf then storm watch in Tofino, or visit blooming Butchart Gardens in Victoria, or go whale watching at anyone of the amazing communities on the Island.
Visit the Okanagan, the region of BC that truly has something for everyone! An early morning fishing trip, followed by a winery tour in the afternoon and cozying up at one of BC’s finest B&Bs to watch the sunset over the majestic mountain valley landscape. Sounds pretty blissful.
Ride up-north and find all the colors of summer in Northern British Columbia – including warm-yellow sunsets, rich-green mountainsides and the clearest of turquoise waters. Go off road, and go on horseback or charter a plane or hike to some of the most idyllic campsites! They may be in the wilderness, but that doesn’t mean they don’t come with modern amenities!
Live large in the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast! No, we are not just talking about the Caribou, but also BC’s largest Provincial Park, Tweedsmuir Provincial Park. The Chilcotin Coast combines a rural culture with artistry and spirit! Take a long horseback ride through some amazing landscapes then eat lunch and tour art studios and historic sites.
Rock’n’Roll the Kootenays! Rock the many outdoor activities (The Kootenays are known for their epic outdoor activities). Hike, bike or go whitewater rafting! Or do all three! Then roll on down to the many hotsprings to relax!
