Voice of BC's Professional Bed & Breakfast Industry

BC’s capital city Victoria is located on the waterfront at the southern tip of Vancouver Island.  It’s year round moderate climate invites visitors to a wide range of outdoor adventures ranging from golf almost year round, to fishing, boating, whale watching, hiking, cycling, kayaking, walking, ziplining, paddleboarding, and many other outdoor activities for the young and young at heart.

But that is not all there is to enjoy in Victoria.  Known as the “City of Gardens” parks abound throughout the region with Beacon Hill Park located right downtown Victoria.  Of course you cannot miss the world famous Butchart Gardens, but other choices are the gardens at Royal Road University, Abkhazi Gardens and the totally free gardens at Government House.

There is also a lot of history to explore in Victoria starting with the BC Parlaiment Buildings, the famous Empress Hotel that overlooks Victoria harbor, and Craigdarroch Castle, the former home of coal baron Robert Dunsmuir and now a National Historic Site of Canada.  A walking tour to discover the past is a great way to learn about Victoria’s history.  Museums such as the Maritime Museum and the Royal BC Museum will enhance your feeling of stepping back in time, yet also exploring the present and the natural surroundings.

While Victoria is steeped in history, it is very much a city of the present as well.  Spas, fine dining, excellent shopping, unique tourism attractions like Miniature World or the Bug Zoo will provide points of interest and entertainment for all tastes and interests.  Wander down Government Street, take the harbor walkway to Fisherman’s Wharf, or tour around on a little harbor ferry, Victoria is a very walkable city.  Summer time brings out the flower baskets all over downtown and many different street entertainers.  Talk to your Victoria B&B innkeeper for all the inside knowledge that will make your visit to Victoria a wonderful experience.
