It is home to 5 unique sub-regions:
North Island

North Central Island

Pacific Rim
Long a popular destination, the Pacific Rim lies along the west coast and is home to scenic kayaking amongst over 100 islands, West Coast trail hiking, sandy beaches, bird, bear & whale watching, diving, fishing and much more. Explore the famous Clayoquot Unesco Biosphere Reserve near Tofino.
Central Island (Oceanside)
This resort area is a popular family vacation destination offering sandy beaches, golf courses, gardens, museums, wildlife cruises, fishing charters, diving expeditions, visual & performing arts, recreational parks and much more.
South Island
The agricultural centers of the Cowichan and Chemainus valley are home to premier culinary tourism & agritourism, historic downtown Ladysmith, outdoor art galleries, nearly 80 totems at Duncan, the Cobble Hill wine region, the restored Kinsol Trestle and much more.

From the moment you drive up, Margaret and Ken are extremely welcoming and make you feel right at home — like you are at a resort with your closest family members. Their home is beautiful and set within peaceful wilderness that is close to town and Lake Cowichan. Down to every little detail, Margaret and Ken have made it easy to stay comfortably and locate whatever you may need.
Margaret also makes some of the most amazing food we have ever eaten and her baking skills rival Martha Stewart. We may have gained 5 lbs eating the amazing deserts! Margaret also went out of her way to ensure that any dietary restrictions were taken into account and our kids were comfortable (including access to a pack n’ play, a toddler bed, toys, etc.). Ken also loved showing off their ducks and chickens to the kids.
We travel to B&Bs often and have never had one so kid friendly. We will ABSOLUTELY be back!”
