The space:
The top floor of our log home has been converted to a private area for our guests. This includes three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The upstairs will be rented out to only one group at a time, this is to ensure your privacy and comfort.
Please note that the staircase to the upstairs is not suitable for those with mobility issues, young children without supervision, or elderly pets. See photo.
There is a curtain and a baby gate at the top of the staircase if required. All bedroom doors have a lock.
The spacious master bedroom has a comfortable queen bed with cozy linens, closet, chest of drawers, luggage holder, desk area, ceiling fan, portable fan, TV, and an ensuite with a shower/tub. There is also a bar fridge and Keurig machine.
The second bedroom has a queen bed with cozy linens, closet, chest of drawers, luggage holder, portable fan, and use of a bathroom which is situated just down the hallway with shower/tub. This bathroom will be shared with those of your party who use the third bedroom, otherwise it is for the second bedroom's private use.
The third bedroom is the smaller room. It has a queen bed, cozy linens, closet, luggage holder, portable fan and use of a bathroom situated down the hallway with shower/tub. This bathroom is shared with your party who uses the second bedroom.
All bedroom windows have lined linen curtains.
Towels, T.P., shampoo, conditioner, body soap and hand soap are provided.
We welcome families, but please read our notes regarding safety issues.
A child's 'pack and go' playpen is available upon request. A child's high chair is also available upon request.
Guests are welcome to relax in our Great Room. This room is primarily for our guests to use.
A Continental breakfast will be served in the Great Room at a designated time. Please notify us ahead of time with any food allergies and/ or sensitivities. This is a delicious grab and go style and is included in the price of your room. You are welcome to eat at the table, on the deck, or out under the Gazebo.
An apartment sized refrigerator, microwave, and coffee/tea bar is also available for our guests in the Great Room.
Please note there is no kitchenette.
Guests are welcome to use our Barbecue which is on the covered front deck. We have put together a container with BBQ equipment and plates that you can use.
Wifi is available; note we sometimes have a poor cell connection. We use wifi assist with our phones.
Guests are welcome to relax on our covered wrap around deck, enjoy the Gazebo, explore the walking trails, gardens, and vistas with Japanese Maples, Rhododendrons and seasonal creeks.
Our property backs on to the Cowichan Valley trail, which is a wonderful biking/walking path.
Please note that we live in an area where there are black bears, cougar, and elk.
Please note that we do have an electric fence around our ducks and chickens.
Guest access
We will be home to welcome our guests.
Guests will enter our home via their own private entrance with a key pad. This will take you directly to the staircase that will take you to the private living space on the top floor. You are welcome to relax in the Great Room on the main floor and you have use of our property.
During your stay
Hosts are available at all times via in person, or cell. We are happy to visit with our guests, but are also happy to give you your privacy.
Other things to note
Our BnB has been district approved and we fit in with the new BC rules for short term rentals.
Please note that we do have a Rooster, chickens and ducks. They will be kept in their pens when we have visitors. Sometimes you can hear the Rooster first thing in the morning.
